Where’s Yelich??

HAS ANYONE SEEN CHRISTIAN YELICH?? The former 2018 MVP has disappeared from the game of baseball. No, he didn’t retire, he is simply lost at the plate. In 2018 Yelich lead the league in batting average (.326), slugging percentage (.598), on base + slugging percentage (1.000), and total bases (343). After winning MVP in 2018 no one in their right mind thought he could put up those numbers again, but of course he did, because why not? In 2019 Christian Yelich was soaring toward his second MVP in as many years, slashing a lead leaguing .329 batting average, .429 on base percentage, .671 slugging percentage and a 1.100 on base + slugging percentage. These numbers are astronomical in baseball and it seemed that there was no stopping Yelich. That is until September 10th, 2019.

On September 10th, 2019 Christian Yelich would foul a ball off his kneecap immediately exiting the game and eventually being diagnosed as out for the season with a fractured kneecap. Since his injury Yelich has completely disappeared from plate and has no signs of returning to his former glory. Since his injury, Yelich has a combined 144 hits, 22 homeruns, 79 runs batted in, and a .216 batting average. This brings us back to our original question, Where’s Yelich? The Milwaukee Brewers will need to find him if they have any shot of making a playoff run in 2022.
